Storytime Station

Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend.  Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read.

About Michele

As a classroom teacher, I was constantly adding to my "toolbox" of ideas and strategies to encourage, motivate, and stretch my students.  I found storytelling to be a very effective--and fun--way to engage them, not only in language arts, but all across the curriculum.  I feel fortunate to be able to continue this passion through my "second career".  I am thrilled to look out over an audience and see eager, smiling faces intent on every word; I am excited to make those personal connections with my listeners; I am proud to be able to bring the wonderful world of storytelling to a new generation; I am grateful every day for the opportunity to keep on doing what I love.

When I am not telling stories, you can find me pursuing other interests, including reading, crossword puzzles, cooking and baking, and traveling.  The Southwestern U.S., Puerto Rico, and Seattle are favorite destinations, but my husband and I are always up for a new adventure!  We also enjoy weekend trips around Texas, where there is no shortage of places to explore and new stories to discover around every corner!
